Coming by bus, between 6 to 9 buses are coming and going between the Lake Motosu entrance
(on Route 139) and Kawaguchiko station in a day.
It is 5 km from Lake Motosu entrance to Kouan. There is no way to walk or hitchhike.
Access to Kawaguchiko station is from Tokyo / Shinjuku station JR Chuo Line → Otsuki station, transfer
Fujikyuko Line → Kawaguchiko station.
Or from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal to Kawaguchiko Station by highway bus.
Highway bus is cheap and easy recommended.
Although it is very few occasionally, there is a highway bus from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal to Lake
Motosu entrance.
It is 5 km from Lake Motosu entrance to Koan. There is only way to walk or hitchhike.
